Preparation begins months in advance of the a piglets arrival. Each pairing and litter is the result of extensive research, careful planning and thoughtful consideration. We believe that the results reflect our commitment to improving our herd and bringing you high-quality show pigs.

18-1 has been the talk of the barn since last fall. She just had the look of a champion from the start.
While the jackpot season was challenging, we had to remember what the end goal was for her. The jackpots were a tool for experience and for her and Emmi to become a team. And they did just that. These girls got out there and demanded everyone's attention in the ring, most importantly the judge's.
She stood out with her overall mass and perfect design and took the Grand Champion title at the Anderson County Youth Livestock Show.
We are so grateful that Emmi's buyer donated her back to her, so she could come home to us and produce champions just like her.

12-1's name is Joy. Joy has been my baby since the day she was born. She was the only gilt born from our sow "Happy" this past summer.
There was only one goal for her and that was for her to stay at home and be a replacement gilt.
When it comes her time to be a sow, I know that she has the pedigree to produce some unique pigs.

2-2 is another female that just has sow, wrote all over her. She was out of our bred sow purchase from Steve Cobb and Family. She's a big girl with lots of everything but still keeps that feminine look. She's square from top to bottom and stays that way all the way through her frame.
With her stylish profile she gets our and glides across the ring.

Here's another replacement that is coming back to us. This blue gilt is by GMO and out of our sow Penny. She's a full sib to Legends Heir. All of Penny's previous pigs with this bloodline were all males. We've waited a long time to get a female with this bloodline and she's just the right one. She's got generator wrote all over her.

This gilt is out of our bred show purchase from Rick Whitman Genetics. She started out slow being the runt in her litter but once again, a replacement prospect very few holes. Korryne Welch did a great job showing her in to the Top Ten at The Texas Elite in Kerrville. And also got third at LCYLS.
We were excited to bring her back home to add her to the sow herd.
Additional note, she's a littermate to one of our new herd boars, Dude.

We have loved this gilt from the start. This gilt was bred by Trogdon Showpigs and purchased through their online sale. She has been an extremely easy feeder with all the parts. No pig is perfect but the fewer holes the better and this gilt is hard to find a hole in. Features that stand out on her are feet and huge legs, big top, deep sided and down right pretty.

Each year we make the trip to the Southwest Type Conference in Belton. We study the gilts that are there and decide for ourselves which ones will benefit us as an addition to our breeding herd. This year we had our eyes on several but one by one they entered the ring and we chose against them. Then this gilt came in. And wow! Where did she come from? We sure previously missed her. Even the judges will tell you, to pick what works for your agenda, with your herd.
